Beaudesert

Home to a population of more than 34,000, the region covers 4,250sq km and is located an hour south of Brisbane and an hour inland from the Gold Coast.

Beaudesert is a small rural town which serves as the western gateway to the Gold Coast hinterland. It is a town situated in a very scenic part of Queensland with quaint farmlands and rolling hills dotted with beautiful homes. The Bromelton State Development Area (SDA) was declared by the Governor in Council on 28 August 2008.

Bromelton is strategically located for industrial uses and logistics operations and is the only area available for future industrial development in South East Queensland currently with access to the national standard gauge rail network.

Potential industries being investigated for the Bromelton SDA include:

  • large lot industrial uses requiring direct access to the national standard gauge rail network
  • freight and logistics operations (major intermodal freight terminal)
  • medium and large scale manufacturing and warehousing activities with road/rail requirements
  • industry support services, freight and logistics/transport servicing depots

Beaudesert has a strong living history perpetuated by the Beaudesert Historical Society and Information Centre. The Town also includes several historical buildings. Step back in time to ride along rolling rural landscapes or breathe in the dust. Historic buildings mark more than 150 years of settlement as a cattle kingdom

The Scenic Rim region is a thriving rural paradise set in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range and surrounded by world heritage listed national parks.
